Pakyong Airport is the newest airport of Sikkim (around 30 km from Gangtok). Hence, it is recommended to book your flights to Bagdogra Airport (around 5 hours drive from Gangtok) which is well connected with all the major cities of India.

No, Indian Nationals do not require a permit to visit Sikkim. However, there are certain places (like Tsomgo Lake, Baba MAndir, Nathula Pass, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley) for which all Indian tourists have to obtain an Inner Line Permit which is arranged by the local tour operator.
